Bio:
In
December of 2004, four very good
friends decided to change the way
they were living their lives
forever, by playing good music
without limitations regardless of
genre or style. They picked up their
instruments and rocked around for
the first time creating the very
first stages of the song called
Barry’s song which eventually
becomes the first song they made.
From that moment on, they knew that
they had started a new beginning in
life. Enter the crazy machine known
as My Private Hell, the Los Angeles
based heavy metal rock band that
expresses strongly about the
struggles of everyday life and all
of the different elements it comes
with. Gian Erguiza,
vocalist/guitarist, is the six
string madness slash
singer/screamer. Gian is the voice
of expression for all four band
members’ feelings or views towards
the world and its ways.
Blue
Palacol, bass player, is the bigger
than life psycho bottom end of the
band. Blue holds down the sound like
no other, like a monster. Blue is
the crazy one that was always
fascinated with the whole rock n
roll lifestyle and all of its
amenities. Jigger Ferrer,
guitarist/backup vocals is the six
shooter/stringer extravaganza.
Jigger is the youngest of all four
making him the young blood/party
spirit/crazy man of the band.
Eric Cuarez, drummer, is the drummer
they call the machine. Eric is
definitely the explosive backbone of
the band, the music enthusiast,
drummer who pounds on the drums like
a madman but with great power and
precision.
Ever since the first show at a
backyard in January 15th, 2005, the
band knew that it was time to pursue
the dreams of making a mark on the
map by doing what they love to do,
playing music live and loud with a
passion. My Private Hell is a
cultural creation of hardships with
a message with everyday life thrown
in for a perfect mix. Four
Exceptional Musicians with different
views on life, different upbringing,
different way of living/thinking.
Four friends with fresh music
bringing something new to the table.
Angel:
What have been The bands most
difficult trials?
Eric: Getting
over ourselves, egos, different
musical tastes, musical
sensibilities, expanding our skills,
meeting deadlines, its not just fun,
it’s also a business!
Blue:
I would say dealing with promoters
that give you attitude and you have
to work with them still in a
professional way.
Jigger: Convincing
clubs to play without having to pay
to play!
Gian: To
me the most difficult trial so far
is finding things out along the way.
You know, no one gave us a manual on
how to rock n roll and how to run a
business at the same time so we’re
learning new things everyday and you
kind of just have to keep an open
mind about things and try to do
everything as professional as you
can. So far, one particular trial
that really became an issue that had
to be addressed was drug addiction.
That in itself is a whole different
ballgame that has its own twists and
turns.
Angel:
What were your
Greatest Moments?
Blue: When
were on stage playing our music and
kicking every one ass, smoking,
drinking head banging….just rock &
rollin!
Eric: When
we first got together, to jam. The
obvious intention was to create some
kick-ass music. I knew that we had
the abilities to become something to
be proud of. Aside from creating
artistic _expression, to me, a great
band is a team of people backing
each other up; no ego maniacs!
Jigger: Every
time we get to play for the masses.
Gian: I
think when we got the demo done;
there was a lot of joy and happiness
in the room. We had this glow on us
like we just made the demo to end
all demos. It turns out, we
should’ve done more homework on the
demo cause musically, we didn’t put
our best effort in it but besides
that, the demo turned out all good!
No regrets! Another happiest moment
I would say is when we actually got
to play the SXSW festival in Texas
cause we weren’t expecting to go out
of state that fast being together at
that time for only 4-5 months. We
haven’t been out of state as a band
and we were pretty stoked to play
one of the most successful festivals
ever! We had a fucking blast over
there! Did you go to the BBQ? That
was also a fucking blast!
Angel:
What do you
hope to achieve through your music?
Jigger: To
let the world hear our message
through the music we create!
Gian: World
Peace! No really? That’s impossible.
First off, the satisfaction of being
successful. We want to achieve all
that good stuff like respect as
musicians, respect as a business, a
force to be reckoned with, to give
hope to people through our music and
lyrics, open people’s minds, help
out in any way by giving to
charities that have a good cause
like the cancer society, give people
good times, help them through the
bad times, help out our families
that are in need, to help out
friends, help people find their
worth, help people find themselves,
empower people to get up and do
something with their lives, to find
our own sanity and happiness.
Blue:
Make us feel good and have fun doing
it. No fucking drama.......
Eric: Freedom
with responsibility; tell the truth.
Artistic expression. No
embellishment (bullshit).
