undiZcovered Magazine speaks to Matisyn of Evans
Blue...

Angel:
"What was it like hearing your song on the radio for the first time?"
Matisyn: It was a very exciting moment for us; Vlad,
Parker, Joe, and I were in the car at the same time. We did one of those manly
cheers and exchanged high fives and even took a picture of ourselves listening
to the song (we're very lame). It's a MySpace world and you always need
potential profile pics.
Angel:
"How did all of the band members meet?"
Matisyn: Joe and I have been in bands for the past
10 years. Parker posted an ad on a musicians want-ads (overhear.com). We
answered and jammed out for a month or two. We later found Vlad on the same
message board. Danny D was our American import; we met him in Boston.
Angel:
What other bands have you played with?
Matisyn: We've played with a lot of bands this
year. Tours have included: Taproot, Shinedown, Trapt, Seether, Breaking
Benjamin, Staind, From Satellite, Halestorm, Dropping Daylight, Faktion, Mercy
Fall. We have also played a lot of festivals with bands like Rob Zombie, Alice
in Chains, 3 Days Grace, Lacuna Coil, Theory of a Deadman, 10 Years, Blue
October, Hurt, Hinder, Flyleaf, Buckcherry, etc
Angel:
Describe your first time on the stage.
Matisyn: I think I'm more comfortable on stage than
anywhere else. It was surreal to play in front of such big crowds on tour,
although in my head it's always been a big crowd watching, even in practice.
Angel:
What is life like on tour?
Matisyn: It's kind of strange. Everyday is pretty
much the same; a lot of waiting and trying to keep busy so you're not bored. Of
course once show time comes around everything changes. We love playing shows
and we're usually pretty pumped to get on stage and do our thing. Afterwards
everyone does there own thing. Some guys party, some don't.
Angel:
If you could give any advice to other bands, what would it
be?
Matisyn: Practice a lot and fine-tune your songs to
match what you want to achieve. If you want your songs on the radio; listen to
the songs on the radio, see what they all have in common (length, structure,
etc). Put on great live shows; give a label no excuses not to be involved with
you.
