Bio:

The collaboration of Avian9 is a unique one. Our music has been said to be “True rock” with a bit of an edge, which takes you on a musical rollercoaster as does the vocals of Brian Burke.

As long time friends, Jake (drummer), Jeremy (bass player) and Steve (guitarist) came together in 1996. (All grew up and still are in Coventry, RI.) Throughout the years as members and music continued to change, their passion for music remained. The trio all went on their own Journeys playing in different bands and then taking a break for quite a few years. In January of 2006 Steve and Jake decided to start playing together again and then they needed to bring Jeremy back in, creating the original line-up. Avian9 was then formed …

The name you might ask? Does it have a meaning? Well in fact it does... We first heard the word in conjunction with the Avian Flu. A thought came to us that our music would spread into the minds of our listeners… The number 9... Just fit well.

Our vocalist Brian Burke, born and raised in Melrose, Mass, was not so easy a task. We auditioned week after week after week and we just could not find that perfect fit, until we all agreed something big had to be done to draw attention to some serious talent. We decided to hold an open call audition at “Bandstand Live”. Well the hard work paid off. Brian was our second person to audition and we knew right then he was the fit Avian9 needed.

We have recently recorded our 4 song demo at Danger Multitrack Recording Studio and will soon be back in to record more... Avian9 is a band bringing true rock music back and we are on a musical Journey to make music for everyone… Our Roller coaster music and emotional and personal vocals are our way of sharing life’s ups and downs… Feel our music in your body and hear our vocals in your soul… A sound you hope to never forget… We are a disease that gets into you and never wants to leave… Soon to be spreading to a city near you…

Angel: What sets Avian 9 apart from other bands?

Avian9: Avian9 takes things from a less is better approach. Our music is like a rollercoaster for your emotions full of twists and unexpected turns.

Angel: What has maintained the bond that has kept you together as a band for over 10 years?

Avian9: Well we've been friends for so many years now that this has just become what we do. As the years continue to go on we take this friendship and share life's ups and downs through our music.

Angel: Will your band be touring soon?

Avian9: Right now our main focus has been working on our upcoming self titled release "avian9" due out Fall of
2007.After the release we will be moving throughout the states.
